LTD. - 1939/1945 / The Sunshine Harvester Works became interested in / munitions production towards the end of 1938, as the result / of the Federal Government's decision to merchanise the A.M.F. / The Company was asked by the then Director of Mechanisation / to consider undertaking the manufacture of a number of indi- / vidual parts and sub-assemblies for the Universal Carrier, and for the "pneumaticisation" of field guns. Although the normal business of the Company was providing a very heavy / load for its works, it was decided to make every effort to assist the Government's preparations for defence.'
