Summary
Twenty-two minature hand-carved ivory weapons, including swords, spears, axes and staffs. These were collected as souvenirs by the donor's grandparents during a grand tour of Europe in the late 19th century.
Part of a family collection gifted by the donor which includes objects passed down by her father Sir Henry Beaufort Somerset, a former Trustee of the National Museum of Victoria, and grandfather Henry St John Somerset, who collected these minature carvings during a grand tour of Europe in the late 19th Century.

Light ivory hand-carved minature weapons, 22 items in total: Two axes. Two forks with triangular prongs. One three pronged fork. Two curved short bladed swords. One long bladed sword. One medium bladed sword. One square bat. Two clubs with decorative handles and centres. Six plain staffs. One serated arrow. One barbed club. One pointed spear with hollowed central shaft.
