Scrapbook that was compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 71 archival items produced between 1968-1976.

The items include advertising proofs for Kodak products in publications produced for South East Asian and Pacific Island regions. The products and subjects include a wide range of film cameras and movie cameras (Instamatic models; 133, 223, 314, M12, M22, M24, M28, 233-X, 56-X, 155-X, Pocket, Tele-Instamatic, along with Ektasound and XL movie cameras), colour film, print processing and print styles (for example Silk prints), and slide projectors. The subject matter relates to general promotions, along with some Christmas promotions.

Advertisement proof clippings relate to the following publications: Islands Press, Pacific Islands Monthly, Handbook of Papua and New Guinea, South Pacific Bulletin, New Guinea Times Courier, South Pacific Post and Papua New Guinea Post Courier.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large blue cardboard rectangular scrapbook, with white canvas binding, with 96 green paper pages containing advertisement proofs. Sticky tape and glue are adhering the clippings to the scrapbook. Many proofs are loose in the scrapbook. The promotional materials range in size from 382 x 253 mm to 260 x 124 mm.
