Scrapbook that was compiled by Kodak Australasia. It contains approximately 250 archival items produced 1959-1968.

They include promotional clippings and advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include film, film processing, Retina, Retinette, Brownie and Instamatic cameras, flash lights, exposure meter, View Master, moving footage cameras and equipment, projectors, printers, greeting cards, micro-film equipment, and promotional information for Kodak retailers. Some of the advertisements relate to Christmas, Easter, and other special promotions, often including Kodak gift ideas. Advertising slogans include: "Winter is the season for... Coughs, Sneezes and Flash Photography!" and "This Easter "Make your Family Movie Stars"". The promotional materials range in size from 97 mm x 96 mm to 268 mm x 302 mm.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper rectangular scrapbook with 98 paper pages plus front and back cover, bound with 5 metal staples, containing newspaper and magazine advertisements. Srapbook is unfinished with a number of 28 pages left blank at the end. The advertisements, mostly in black and white, some in colour, were printed on white paper as half page, full page and smaller clippings. The advertisements were adhered with sticky tape or glue, some are loose. Some of the clippings have the journal/newspaper source and date hand written onto them. The scrapbook pages have been numbered by hand with blue ink, along with the source of the clippings at the top of the page. A typed index is located on the inside front cover.
