Summary
Pictorial souvenir postcard of the Royal Visit to New South Wales in April 1927. The Duke & Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth) were in Australia to open the new Parliament House in Canberra. Over a period of 59 days, the royal party visited every Australian state: they spent 12 days in New South Wales, seven in Queensland, four in Tasmania, eleven in Victoria, six in South Australia, six in Western Australia and three in the Australian Capital Territory; the remaining 10 days were allocated for travelling and recreation.
Physical Description
Paper envelope, in which a fold out strip of black and white images of the Royal Visit to New South Wales are printed. There are nine pages, with 18 images. Text and a photograph of the Duke & Duchess of Cornwall are printed on the front cover, and the flags of the newly federated states are printed on the obverse.
