Scrapbook that was compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 127 archival items produced 1964-1972.
The contents include promotional leaflets for Kodak products. The advertisements mostly relate to sporting activities but also include some travel campaigns. For example, 'Capture the action as it whizzes by' and 'Whatever your sport keep it forever in pictures ... on KODAK film.' The clippings included are mostly the same advertisement but sourced from various sporting magazines through a number of issues. The products and subjects include; cameras, movie cameras, photographic film, moving image film and camera accessories.
Advertising items relate to the following publications: Australian Gliding, Australian Outdoors, Australian Water Sportsman, Great Barrier Reef, Hoofs and Horns, Modern Boating, Modern Motor, Power Boat and Yachting, Scout Leader, Scouting in N.S.W, Scouting in Queensland, Seacraft, Ski Australia, The Scout Leader, The Surfing World, The Victorian Surfer, Wheels.
Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
Large paper rectangular scrapbook with 98 paper pages plus paper front and back cover, bound with cardboard and 5 metal staples, containing press advertisements. Typed index page located on the inside cover which contains some annotations by hand in blue ink. Pages are also numbered by hand in blue ink at the top right of each page. The clippings included are produced on both cream coloured newspaper quality paper as well as white glossy magazine paper. Samples include those printed in black and white and some in colour. The promotional materials range in size from 130 mm x 183 mm to 272 mm x 181 mm. A number of pages in the scrapbook have been left empty.
