Summary

The spearthrower is one of three types used by men in eastern Arnhem Land. The tassel is made of human hair string, and is the rarer type.

Physical Description

A wooden spearthrower painted with natural pigments. A wooden peg is secured with resin at the distal end. The proximal end has a 'skirt' or tassel of human hair string.
