Summary
Un Suf-sta [nombre en Yaghan para herramienta descortezadora] elaborado a partir de costilla de ballena Had-push [hueso en Yaghan] y entregado al antropólogo australiano Sir Walter Baldwin Spencer el 31 de Mayo de 1929 por Tekenica [Ken] Williams. Ken lo había encontrado, algún tiempo antes, en una de las islas del Cabo de Hornos. Un hombre local Yaghan que trabajaba con Spencer y el equipo, An-ma-tsing-man-this [George] lo identificó como una Suf-sta que se usó para quitar la corteza de los árboles para hacer canoas [como en el modelo X 38269].
A Suf-sta [Yaghan name for bark-stripping tool] crafted from whale rib Had-push [Yaghan for bone] and given to Australian anthropologist Sir Walter Baldwin Spencer on 31 May 1929 by Tekenica [Ken] Williams. Ken had found it, some time prior, on one of the Cape Horn Islands. A local Yaghan man working with Spencer and the team, An-ma-tsing-man-this [George] identified it as a Suf-sta which was used to strip bark off trees for making canoes [as in the model X 38269].
