Scrapbook that was compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 54 archival items produced 1972-1975.

The archival items include promotional clippings and advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include film, film processing, Instamatic cameras, moving footage cameras and equipment, greeting cards, photographic prints, compact cassette recording tapes, services such as self-servicing film processing and promotional information for Kodak retailers. Some of the advertisements relate to Christmas, Easter, spring, New Years, School Holiday and other special promotions or campaigns, including Kodak gift ideas.

The advertising material is directed at both potential and established Kodak retailers in the pharmacy trade. Material often advertises Kodak advertising campaigns, demonstrating the breadth of exposure and potential consumer market to encourage new Kodak retailers. Advertising slogans include: 'Another sales 'enlarger' from Kodak: New 'Silk-Surface' Kodacolor enlargements', 'Kodak continues full strength TV selling, plan your displays now. Be ready for our new Beach Girl Showcard. She's a beauty!' and 'Build your color processing business... with the help of long-term Kodak TV promotions.' Advertising material has been prepared by Kodak (Australasia) Pty. Ltd or Berry Currie Advertising (Vic.) Pty. Ltd.

Advertising clippings and proofs relate to the following publications: Australian Journal of Pharmacy, Journal of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Gazette, Pharmacy Guild Contact, Pharmacy Trade, Photo Trade News, University of Sydney Pharmacy Year Book.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper rectangular scrapbook with 89 paper pages plus front and back cover, bound white fabric tape. Scrapbook is unfinished with 34 pages left blank at the end. The advertisements, mostly in black and white, some in colour, were printed on white paper as half page, full page and smaller clippings. The promotional materials range in size from 353 mm x 463 mm to 328 mm x 210 mm. The advertisements were adhered with sticky tape or glue, and some are loose. Some of the clippings have the journal/newspaper source and date printed on them.
