Scrapbook that was compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 96 archival items produced 1963-69.

The archival items include promotional clippings and full-page size advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include view masters, X-Ray film, Instamatic cameras and accessories, photographic film, Instamatic movie equipment, Kodak greeting cards, audio cassette tapes and services such as Kodak product displays and showcases and Kodak dealer training courses. Some of the advertisements relate to Christmas, Easter, spring and other special promotions or campaigns, including Kodak gift ideas.

The advertising material is directed at both potential and established Kodak retailers in the pharmacy trade. They promote specialised Kodak window displays for between season promotions, methods for showcasing Kodak products and sales advice for pharmacists. Advertising slogans include; 'No hibernating for photo sales this winter!', 'We'll help you 'buy-in' and then we'll help you 'sell-out' and 'January is holiday time - Kodak film time! Time for you to cash in on the giant holiday promotion for Kodak film!' Advertising material has been prepared by Kodak (Australasia) Pty. Ltd or Berry Currie Advertising (Vic.) Pty. Ltd.

Advertising clippings and proofs relate to the following publications: Journal of Pharmacy, Kodak Dealer News, Manufacturers Monthly, Photo Pharmacy Trade, Sports Goods and Toy Retailer, Sydney University Pharmaceutical Association Year Book, the Pharmacy Student.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper rectangular scrapbook with 95 paper pages plus front and back cover, bound white fabric tape.The advertisements, mostly in black and white, some in colour, were printed on white paper as full page magazine proofs. The promotional materials range in size from 280 mm x 252 mm to 227 mm x 133 mm. The advertisements were adhered with sticky tape some are loose. Some of the clippings have the journal/newspaper source and date printed, or handwritten on them.
