Advertising slogans include 'Reduce color printing costs - Get it right first time with Kodak reproduction systems' and 'New 'filmless copy' technique takes the sweat out of deadlines.' Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper rectangular scrapbook with 99 pages containing newspaper and magazine advertisements. There is no front or back cover, pages are cream paper. The scrapbook is bound with cardboard and 5 metal staples. The clippings are mostly printed on cream coloured newspaper quality paper, and glossy magazine paper. Clippings are in black and white but occasionally in colour. The promotional materials range in size from 278 x 214 mm to 138 x 190 mm. Often there are multiple copies of the same advertisement adhered with tape but most have come loose. Many of the clippings have the journal/newspaper source and date typed onto them. The scrapbook pages have been numbered by hand with red ink, along with the source of the clippings at the top of the page. A typed index is located on the first page.
