Scrapbook that was compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 26 archival items produced 1965-69.

The archival items include promotional clippings and advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include sound recording tape, recording tape & magnetic film. Amongst the advertising proofs are a number of articles produced by Kodak from a series titled 'Some plain talk about kodak tape.' These articles explain what various products are and how Kodak products differ from their competitors. Various article titles include: 'Slitting accuracy and skew angle,' 'sensitivity, frequency response and Kodak sound recording tape' and 'signal-to-noise rations, saturation output and uniformity.'

Advertising slogans include: 'When you sell Kodak Sound Recording Tape, the playback is profit!' and 'Kodak tape ... shines in more ways than one.' Advertising material has been prepared by Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd.

Age Education Week Supplement, Australian radio, Electronics Australia, Hi-Fi Amateur Tape Recording Guide, Journal of pharmacy, Motion picture directory, Photo trade magazine, Popular mechanics, Rydges, South Australian School Post, Telecommunications Journal Australia.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large purple cardboard scrapbook, bound with a white canvas spine. The scrapbook contains 87 paper pages (including inside of front and back cover.) The last 68 pages have been left blank. The black and white proofs were printed on white paper as half page, full page and smaller clippings. The promotional materials range in size from 264 mm (W) x 359 mm (H) to 182 mm (W) x 265 mm (H).
