Summary
A 16mm motion picture film featuring the opening and closing sponsorship announcements, or billboards, advertising Kodak Australasia as an Australian industry 'serving the nation through health, industry, commerce and serving you in everyday life through family picture making". These billboards were produced in 1958 and presumably screened on television at around this time. It is not known which program these billboards were screened with.
This film is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
Description of Content
Both the opening and closing television sponsorship billboards are edited together on this reel. They feature the same male narrator and the Kodak graphic reading 'CAMERAS / Kodak / FILMS'. An outline of Australia appears underneath followed by several shots showing how Kodak supports Australian industry through health, industry, commerce and family photography.
