Summary

A 16mm motion picture film featuring a television advertisement for Kodacolor film. It was produced in 1959 for the advertising agency Hugh Berry & Co who were commissioned by Kodak Australasia. It features a woman in her lounge room looking at an album of black and white photographs. A man on television begins to tell her the benefits of colour film. The key point of the advertisement is that any camera you already have will be able to make use of Kodacolor film, presenting colour photography as easy and a more accurate way to record family memories.

This commercial is one of the earliest in the Kodak Heritage Collection to make use of the campaign slogan 'It's made by Kodak, so you KNOW it's good', which stressed the quality and household name of Kodak products. This slogan was used well into the early 1960s.

This film is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
