Booklet entitled 'Vitamins for Victory' produced by Opportunity Clubs for Boys and Girls to raise funds.

The book is a collection of articles about nutrition that were orignially published in the Opportunity Clubs' magazine 'Opportunity.' The booklet was published in order to educate the general public about nutrition and to raise funds for the Opportunity Clubs themselves. Dr. R.W. Dungan, the Honorary Medical Officer of the Opportunity Clubs, is listed as a recognised expert on the topic who has read the booklet, thus giving the booklet an air of authority.

At the time of publication, the Opportunity Clubs were responsible for seven youth centres in the inner suburbs of Melbourne with a total membership of 1,700. The clubs exist to 'build better citizens' through providing safe environments where children can play and learn. The clubs promote proper nutrition as a further means of reaching its goal. According to the Argus newspaper, the Opportunity Clubs first started in Collingwood in mid-1939 with two clubs - one for boys and one for girls - with a total membership of 380. The clubs were started with funds provided by Dr. Ramsey Mailer, the President of the movement.
