Summary
Alternative names: Gaming Machine, One Arm Bandit, Slot Machine, Pokie
Gaming machine manufactured in Sydney by the Aristocrat Company between 1955 and 1960, and used at leagues clubs and other gaming venues throughout NSW. Machines such as this would have been used by Victorians holidaying in the NSW or visiting venues in the border towns of Albury/Wodonga, Cobram/Barooga and Echuca/Moama on day trips, a popular pastime before the introduction of poker machines in Victoria in1992.
The gaming machine was later used as a display item at the national headquarters of Tattersalls in St Kilda Road, Melbourne, until their relocation to Queensland in 2013.
