Summary
Plastic token issued by Coles Stores. Used instead of coins, and with no value other than at the business of issue, tokens such as this were used to redeem credits or rewards, pay for trolly hire, provide access to pay toilets or turnstiles, etc.
This token belonged to Amy Turner, a member of the Uniting Church. Amy had a strong commitment to social justice and conservation. Her small collection of badges and mementos captures some of the campaigns she championed, as well as other events that took place in Melbourne during her lifetime.
