Summary
'Staff Instructions for the Guidance of Officers of the State Savings Bank of Victoria', issued 1 July 1954 under the authority of the SSB's general manager N.R. Williams and published by McCarron, Bird & Co.
This weighty tome belonged to Keith Morter who started working for the State Savings Bank of Victoria 1942 at the age of 15, and apart from a two year posting with the RAAF during World War II (1944-1946) was employed by the bank until his retirement in 1985. Keith was obviously handed this copy of 'Staff Instructions for the Guidance of Officers of the State Savings Bank of Victoria' in 1954, and as is clear from the number of updated office addresses written on the inside front page, annotations and inserts added over the years was taken by him from post to post.
