Scrapbook compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 65 archival items produced circa 1960s.

The archival items include promotional clippings and advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include camera outfits, Kodak editorial services, Kodak sound projectors, movie cameras, photographic cameras, photographic Film, photographic processing, slide projectors and sound recording tape. Many of the advertisements contain illustrative cartoons, or are catalogue-type advertisements with images of each individual Kodak product. Many proofs have been hand labelled 'Local Promotions.'

Advertising slogans include 'sensational simple new Kodak instamatic camera, just drop in the film and it's loaded!' and 'you are looking at the flashiest* gifts you can buy/ *-with incredible Flashcube.' Advertising material has been prepared by Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd or Berry Currie Advertising (Vic.) Pty Ltd.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large blue scrapbook with off-white canvas binding along the spine, containing 85 paper pages (including inside of front and back cover.) The last 45 pages have been left blank. Sticky tape was securing the clippings but a number of proofs have come loose inside the scrapbook. Some advertising proofs have corrections hand-written in pencil. Many pages towards the end of the book are blank. The black and white proofs were printed on white paper as half page, full page and smaller clippings. The promotional materials range in size from 98 mm (W) x 69 mm (H) to 498 mm (W) x 324 mm (H).
