Scrapbook compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 175 archival items produced 1970-1973.

The archival items include promotional clippings and advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include cameras, camera accessories and sales, compact cassette tapes, film developing accessories, Kodachrome film, Kodak instruction manuals, Kodak Royal Bromesko Papers, movie cameras, movie film, movie projectors, photographic film, photographic prints and pocket instamatic cameras. Many of the clippings are Kodak advertisements taken from magazines they were printed in. The scrapbook pages contain multiple copies of advertisements from various editions of the same publication.

Advertising slogans include: 'the Christmas gift that clicks with everyone' and 'you'll forget, but pictures won't.' Advertising material has been prepared by Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

Physical Description

Large paper scrapbook with brown paper pages and cover, bound with cardboard and five metal staples along the spine. The book contains 102 paper pages, though many have been left blank. Page numbers have been written in blue ink on the top right hand corner of the page. Title of the journal the advertisements were taken from have been hand written across the top of the page in blue ink.The promotional materials range in size from 215 mm (W) x 285 mm (H) to 153 mm (W) x 244 mm (H). A square yellow sticker is adhered to the front cover with a typed title. Clippings are printed in black and white and colour on both gloss and matte paper. All clippings are attached with sticky tape but a number are coming loose in the scrapbook, sometimes protruding from the pages.
