Scrapbook compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 275 archival items produced 1959-65.

The archival items include promotional clippings and advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include cameras, photographic film, colour film, colour slides, flash photography, home movie equipment, Kodak gift ideas, travel photography and motion picture cameras.

Advertising slogans include 'Go picture taking and enjoy fun over again' and 'Save all your good times in Kodak colour pictures.' Journal titles have been labelled in blue ink at the top of each page, clippings have original source and date either typed or hand written onto them. Many of the clippings are multiples of the same advertisement. Advertising material has been prepared by Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd or Berry Currie Advertising (Vic.) Pty Ltd.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper scrapbook with 100 brown paper pages, plus brown paper front and back cover, bound with cardboard and five metal staples along the spine. The book contains paper-based advertising clippings. Pages are numbered 1 - 75 and a number are left blank. Clippings are printed in black and white and colour on both gloss and matte paper. All clippings are attached with sticky tape. A number of clippings are loose inside the scrapbook. The promotional materials range in size from 67 mm (W) x 45 mm (H) to 190 mm (W) x 270 mm (H).
