Scrapbook compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 297 archival items produced 1955-19559.

The archival items include promotional clippings and advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include cameras, camera accessories, photographic film, colour film, flash photography, travel photography, travel photography and motion picture cameras. Many of the clippings are multiple copies of the same advertisement in different editions of a publication, most advertisements relate to travel and tourism photography.

Advertising slogans include ''There's no place like home' - for snapshots; FLASH gets the picture any time' and 'Kodak snapshots remember your holiday when you forget.' Advertising material prepared by Kodak Australasia Pty. Ltd.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper scrapbook with 91 brown paper pages, plus brown paper back cover, bound with cardboard and staples. Front cover missing. The book contains paper-based and cardboard advertising clippings, brochures and fliers. Pages are wrinkled due to the glue used and pages are fairly dirty. A typed and photocopied index with handwritten corrections on the first page lists the contents. Pages are numbered 1 - 80 in the top outer corners, with a few blank pages. Clippings are printed in black and white and colour on matte and gloss paper and cardstock. Clippings are attached with glue and sticky tape. The promotional materials range in size from134 mm (W) x 257 mm (H) to 127 mm (W) x 58 mm (H).
