The archival items include promotional clippings and advertisement proofs for Kodak products The products and subjects include motion picture cameras, projectors and film, business photo systems, colour prints, home movie equipment, photography facts and tips, production and laboratory services for film production, sound projectors.

Advertising slogans include 'Preferred by exhibitors everywhere - sensitized materials made by Kodak' and 'you'll never see a better film; for the best photographic quality . print on Eastman fine grain release positive film.' Advertising material has been prepared by Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd or Berry Currie Advertising (Vic.) Pty Ltd.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper scrapbook with 100 brown paper pages bound with cardboard and five metal staples along the spine. The front cover appears to be missing. The book contains paper-based advertising clippings in black and white and colour. All clippings are attached with sticky tape and sometimes glue. A number of clippings are loose inside the scrapbook. The promotional materials range in size from 91 mm (W) x 55 mm (H) to 152 mm (W) x 300 mm (H)
