Invitation to attend a ball in honour of the Duke & Duchess of York, issued to Mr W. McDonald & Lady by the Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Alderman (Sir) Stephen Joseph Morell. The ball was held at the Exhibition Building on Wednesday 27 April, 1927. The Duke & Duchess of York were in Australia to open the new Parliament House in Canberra. Over 59 days, the royal party visited every Australian state, including an 11 day sojourn in Victoria.
