Summary
Invitation issued by the Head Masters of the Public Schools of Victoria to attend the Distribution of Prizes by their Royal Highnesses the Duke & Duchess of Cornwall & York at the (Royal) Exhibition Building on 14 May 1901. The royal couple were in Victoria as part of Australia's official Federation celebrations. Five days earlier, on 9 May 1901, the Duke of Cornwall & York had opened the first federal parliament of Australia in the (Royal) Exhibition Building. A number of events, like the distribution of prizes, were held in the Exhibition Building and at other venues throughout Victoria during the royal couple's ten day stay in the state.

Rectangular card with black cursive writing. Centre top is the symbol of the British coat of arms. The name of the intended recipient has been rubbed out.
