Summary
A Cinderella Stamp from the 1939 Home and Building Exhibition held at the Exhibition Buildings, Melbourne, 17 February - 4 March. The exhibition showcased the latest and most innovative goods for the home, including building materials and home appliances. The exhibition aimed to show householders how their houses could be modernised and economised with modern labour saving machines and updated building techniques. New products like washing machines and air conditioning were big draw cards for the exhibition, at a time when most houses in Australia had few modern conveniences. There was a model house on display presenting all these new appliances and techniques which gave the homeowners of Melbourne a perfect demonstration of what they were missing.
Physical Description
A small rectangular paper stamp. Brightly coloured with a picture of a house on the front.
