University of Melbourne British History matriculation questions, 1956. Candidates had to answer five (of 14 possible) questions in three hours. The questions primarily related to Australia's colonial history and Federation, though there are also questions around migration, education and treatment of indigenous Australians by 'whites'. The exam was held in the (Royal) Exhibition Building (REB) on 14 December 1956. The REB continues to host university exams at the end of both first and second semesters.
