Summary

Framed certificate presented by the National Print Awards to Kodak Polychrome Graphics in appreciation of their sponsorship. The certificate was signed by the Chairman of the National Print Awards on the 16th April 2008.

Kodak Polychrome Graphics were a subsidiary of Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd, formed in the early 2000s. It sold professional graphics equipment and supplies for businesses. While the manufacturing side of the business was closing down in Australia, Kodak sales and marketing continued (and does so to this day). This certificate represents the corporate direction that the company took after Coburg closed, and their active role in the graphics and printing industry more broadly.

Kodak Australasia manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to the Australasia region, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This certificate is part of the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Certificate printed in blue and black ink, with an embossed gold seal in the centre representing a gold metal, attached to a coloured ribbon. In the lower right corner is a silver, embossed seal. The certificate is mounted in a wooden frame, painted gold, and within a navy blue card mounting board.
