Summary
A commemorative envelope from the AUSIPEX 84 international stamp exhibition awards day and banquet, held at the Regent Hotel, 29 September 1984. The envelope is covered in stamps produced for Ausipex 84, all of which have been postmarked with the awards day postmark.
Ausipex 84 was held under the auspices of: The Royal Philatelic Society of Victoria; the Victorian Philatelic Associations and other Philatelic Societies; the Victorian Stamp Promotion Council, and the Australasian Stamp Dealers Association with the co-operation of Australia Post. Ausipex was the largest philatelic exhibition ever staged in Australasia. The exhibition was a combination of displays, competitive entries and trade; there were approximately 100 stands of dealers and overseas postal administrators.
Physical Description
A large envelope printed with black ink and featuring minisheet with 7 Ausipex 84 stamps. Six of the stamps are facsimiles of the stamp for each of Australia's colonies; the seventh stamp is a facsimile Kangaroo and Map stamp.
