Summary
Alternative Name(s): Magazine.
Staff newsletter titled 'Australian Kodakery', Issue No 6, December 1968, published by Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd, Coburg, Victoria. The series runs from Issue No 1, July 1968 to No 171, June 1985. Missing issues no 87 and 110. Normally published monthly, with some exceptions, it was succeeded by 'Kodak News', which continued numbering with no 172, July 1985.
December's edition of the 'Australian Kodakery' is Christmas-themed, with colour included for the first time (a green Christmas ribbon on the front cover). The Chairman, Mr. E. A. Teasdale, writes a Christmas message to the employees of Kodak. 'Managers on the Move' reveals the managers who are taking up posts at other Kodak campuses. Mr. B. Black is transferring from Newcastle to Sydney; Mr. I. Docker is taking over from Mr. Black as Manager of the Newcastle Branch; Mr. G. Robertson is leaving Perth to become the Branch Manager at Brisbane; Mr. N. R. Fletcher becomes the State Manager for Western Australia, replacing Mr. Robertson. Photographs of all four men included. Articles of interest published in this edition include 'We're with it' - an article about the first hologram to be created in the Research Laboratory in Coburg - and 'New Kodak Cinema Commercial has Emotional Involvement' - a new four minute short film has been created to be shown during the trailers at the cinema. The theme for this film is memories. A quirky story included is titled 'A Problem in Semantics', telling the tale of a young customer struggling to take a photo of her new house due to the Kodak instruction guides recommending that a distance of four feet away from the object is required to get the best photograph - from four feet away, she cannot get the whole house in the picture. She writes in asking for advice. The editor notes that "frivolous suggestions, like getting a smaller house or a larger house" will not be accepted. Photographs of note include one of the hologram and a still-shot of a scene from the new Kodak Cinema Commercial. Regular columns published include 'Kodak Around the World'; 'Employee Benefits'; 'Classified Advertisements', 'Retirements'; 'Engagements, Marriages, Births and Deaths'; 'Coburg Chatter'; 'Bits from Branches'; 'Sport, Recreation, Clubs, Hobbies'.
