Staff newsletter titled 'Australian Kodakery', Issue No 40, October/November 1972, published by Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd, Coburg, Victoria. The series runs from Issue No 1, July 1968 to No 171, June 1985. Missing issues no 87 and 110. Normally published monthly, with some exceptions, it was succeeded by 'Kodak News', which continued numbering with no 172, July 1985.
This edition of the Australian Kodakery includes a story on Kodak marketing and sales staff from Australia and New Zealand being trained to market and sell the new Pocket Instamatic, which was a compact plastic camera designed to fit into the user's pocket and took a small 110 cartridge film. Pocket Instamatic cameras were officially launched in April 1973 in Australia, but dealers were given a preview in November 1972, with a small number available to sell for Christmas.
This document is part of the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
