Summary
Miniature edition of the 'New Testament' printed by The National Bible Society of Scotland and issued as a souvenir of the Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition which was held at the (Royal) Exhibition Buildings from 1 October 1888 - 31 January 1889.
The Victorian branch of the British & Foreign Bible Society erected a kiosk at the exhibition in which 'specimens of the society's Bibles in all languages' were displayed and sold. The kiosk and its contents were previously exhibited at the 1887 Adelaide Jubilee Exhibition.
Similar bibles were also available as souvenirs of the 1880 Melbourne International Exhibition.
Physical Description
Small, leather bound bible. Title printed in gold on front cover. Fine paper pages printed in black ink. A signature has been written on the first page in ink.
