Summary

Shane Allan's Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd business card, issued in the 1990s, which identifies him as the Government & Pricing Co-ordinator of the Office Imaging Division, based at Coburg. This business card shows how the Kodak company took advantage of its core business ie photography, to visually present its staff and promote its business - we see the face of the person on the card, as well as read of their position in the company.

Louis Shane Allan (commonly known as Shane) worked with Kodak Australasia from 1965 to 2002 and held various positions, starting off in planning and stock control, later moving to managing government contracts, before he became Kodak's Ombudsman with the job of resolving difficult problems with customers.

This document was donated as part of the Kodak Oral History Project. It complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
