A letter from then Chairman and Managing Director of Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd, Mr John Allen, to former Kodak employee Mr Brian D Phillipson, notifying him of the planned closure of the Coburg manufacturing plant and the last production day on November 26, 2004.

Brian Phillipson worked with Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd for 36 years from 1955 to 1990. Brian worked in paper coating at Abbotsford, then Stores, after which he spent 22 years developing safe lighting technology for use in the darkened environment required for photographic product manufacture and finishing at the Coburg factory.

This document was donated as part of the Kodak Oral History Project. It complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
