Summary
A printed letter from former Chairman & Managing Director of Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd, Mr Ed Woods, to all Kodak employees. This is the end of year letter sent as a thank-you with Christmas bonuses and a general yearly round-up of news on 7 Dec 1990.
This copy was sent to Louis Shane Allan (commonly known as Shane) who worked with the company from 1965 to 2002 in various roles. Mr Allan started off in planning and stock control, later moving to managing government contracts, before he became Kodak's Ombudsman with the job of resolving difficult problems with customers.
This document was donated as part of the Kodak Oral History Project. It complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
