Summary

An invitation to the farewell afternoon tea for Louis Shane Allan (commonly known as Shane) who worked at Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd from 1965 to 2002 in various roles.

Mr Allan started off in planning and stock control, later moving to managing government contracts, before he became Kodak's Ombudsman with the job of resolving difficult problems with customers. His farewell afternoon tea was held on Wednesday December 19 2002 at 3pm.

This document was donated as part of the Kodak Oral History Project. It complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
