Summary

A test reel of Kodachrome Super 8 Movie Film, used by Mr Noel Stone to record images of the Marketing Office and surrounds in Building 8 of the Coburg plant on July 6 1971. Noel took this footage as part of his work duties, to test the quality of the product for use and sale. The film was sent over from Eastman Kodak, prior to commercial release in Australia, for preview. Noel was a Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd Marketing employee from the 1970s to the 1990s.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This photograph complements the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
