Summary

A metal Kodaslide slide file box. Though unmarked, it was likely manufactured or imported by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It similar in structure to branded Kodaslide File Boxes and likely produced by the Cameras, Reels and Sundries Department. It was used by former Kodak employee,Yvonne Cameron. She not only worked in the canteen and staff shop at Coburg from 1964 to 1975, she was an active member of the Kodak Camera Club. This slide box was likely used to house her personal photographic slide collection, and has room for 28 to 30, 35mm slides.

This object was donated as part of the Kodak Oral History Project. It complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Long, rectangular, metal box with hinged lid opening to reveal grey painted metal interior with indented slots on each side. There are three upward-facing, semi-circular lips on the lower front of the case and one downward facing lip on the front face of the lid, used to open and close the box.
