Summary

A 2 page Kodak Camera Club Newsletter from 1967, issued by Kodak Australasia.

It belonged to Yvonne Welch (later Cameron) who not only worked in the canteen and staff shop at Coburg from 1964 to 1975, but was an active member of the Kodak Camera Club. Yvonne was mentioned in this particular newsletter issue for winning second prize in the prints section of the club's Children's Photography competition, which was judged by Kodak Coburg employee and Camera Club member Roy Porter.

Like Yvonne, many Kodak employees were passionate photographers and the company actively encouraged them in their hobby through holding their own photographic competitions and reporting on Camera Club news in the Kodak Australasia staff newsletter. This particular issue of the club's own newsletter discusses the meeting, competitions and exhibitions and 'Camera Bargains' at Kodak's Collins Street store in Melbourne.

This document was donated as part of the Kodak Oral History Project. It complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
