Summary
Folding cross cut saw used by German engineer units during World War I. Saw has 27 links which unfold to 107 cm in length. Two separate wooden handgrips are fitted to rings at either end of saw.
Brown leather pouch with compartments for sharpening tools (tools missing).
Physical Description
Metal saw consisting of joined links with teeth, with removable wooden handle at each end. Includes a brown leather case, triangular in shape, with a flap front, secured by a small metal buckle at the base. Beneath the flap, there is a section for storing elongated tools, secured beneath two leather tabs secured by a brass press stud.
