Summary
Unopened pack of Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd Austral Standard Dry Plates, manufactured at the Abbotsford plant circa 1920s. The sealed box contains 12 unused, half plate glass negatives, sized 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches.
This object is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
Physical Description
Brown cardboard box with colour Austral Standard Dry Plates label, with an image of the Australian Red Ensign flag, overlaid with black text. On the back of the box is the printed Developing Formulae label. Box is sealed with brown paper.
