Summary
Digital copy of a black and white photograph of the Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd Research Laboratory Staff at Coburg, circa 1970.
This photograph originally belonged to former Research Laboratory staff member Norm Ducksbury, who was appointed Chief Chemist in the Laboratory at Abbotsford in 1958, and was later Manager of Chemistry Research at Coburg from 1960. Norm moved into a role as Manager, Environment, Southeast Asia, Engineering Department in 1978 and retired from Kodak in 1983. An oral history interview with Norm details his working life with Kodak (see HT 34717).
This document complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
