Summary
Parasol belonging to Charlotte (Lizzie) Twycross, believed to have been used by her when visiting the Melbourne International Exhibition at the (Royal) Exhibition Building, 1880-81.
Physical Description
Parasol with black silk outer canopy edged in lace. The canopy interior is lined with multiple tiers of scalloped cream machine-made lace. The handle is made from a bamboo with a highly polished patina. The handle has been broken in the centre, and at the time of acquisition is in two pieces.
