An illustrated and descriptive booklet, written by Peter Murray, about energy resources in Australia, targeted to educate and inspire the secondary school student towards careers in science and engineering.

It is a concise summary of the status of energy sources in Australia shortly after the World Oil Crisis of 1973 and outlines Australia's dependence on fossil fuels and discusses sustainable management Australia's energy resources and the impact of long term use of these dwindling and non-renewable resources.

The booklet was produced by Vulcan Industries Ltd, in association with the Australian Science Teachers Association and UNESCO as an outcome of the "Energy and How We Live" symposium held in May 1973 at Flinders University, South Australia which brought together Australian scientists and engineers to discuss their work.
