Summary
One of the 16 volumes in the Pictorial Social Studies Series 3 'Our Changing World', by Australian Visual Education Pty Ltd, first published 1958-1960.
The booklet is aimed at juvenile school age Australian children as part of the national curriculum and used to illustrate the common safety messages at that time in a relaxed, comic book style format. These booklets were designed to visually present a wide range of topics in ever changing fields of knowledge, to help children assimilate more knowledge within the timeframe available. It uses a popular visual format for engaging young learners by using pictures to impress what would otherwise be very dry messages about general safety behaviours in the home, at school and in public spaces (roadways, water, bush land).
