Laminated copy of a poem written by Peter Auty on the 11 February 2009, four days after fighting the Black Saturday bushfires.

'No More' relates his experience of the helplessness of trained fire fighters in the face of the fires. This poem was given to Premier John Brumby, who read it at the National Day of Mourning at Rod Laver Arena and again in the Victorian Parliament . Peter's poem and his role during and following Black Saturday have been acknowledged in the Victorian Hansard, the 2009 Black Saturday Royal Commission, ABC radio and numerous newspaper articles. Peter's poem 'No More', combined with his many training certificates, shows the difficulty for even highly trained fire-fighters like him to fight the Black Saturday fires, and highlights the effect that this unprecedented event had on the emergency services people involved.

Part of a collection that documents the life of Peter Auty, illustrating his colourful and interesting life, and why he was well loved by his community, recognized in the Victorian Parliament, and awarded two medals posthumously for the important role he played on and following Black Saturday. This collection forms part of the Victorian Bushfires Collection. This large and diverse collection was established following Black Saturday and includes a multi-disciplinary collection of artefacts, images and stories to record the experience and impact of bushfires across Victoria's landscape, ecology and history.
