Summary

Un-used, flat pack box for Kodak Max Versatility film pack. The box was designed with a hanging tab and a perforated opening on the back, and would hold 3 x Kodak Max 400 film cartridges (24 exposures, 35mm color print film, 400 speed), totalling 72 exposures per pack.

This is one of a bundle of 10 boxes, manufactured by Carter Holt Harvey packaging for Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd, who would then package the finished film in the Coburg factory using coated film from Kodak (China) Company Limited.

These boxes, manufactured circa 2003 - 2005, are excess, un-used stock items from the end of manufacturing at Kodak Australasia.These products are part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

Physical Description

Colour cardboard box printed in a yellow, red, black and blue colour scheme with an unfolded hanging tab at the top featuring a photograph on the front of a young boy on a BMX bike and a chart on the back with different illustrated icons to show the functionality of various Kodak film types. There are three colour photographs on the back of a young boy reaching for a soccer ball. There are four tabs each side printed with product details and barcode.
