Summary
Supplement magazine 'The Australian Magazine', part of the Weekend Australian published 29-30 May 1993. The edition featured a special article entitled 'Poms in Paradise. Britain's love affair with Western Australia' by Victoria Laurie, pages 10-20. It features interviews with British migrants who chose to settle in Western Australia, their various reasons for migrating, statistics on British migration to Australia in the 1990s and observations regarding a strong sense of Britishness in the western state. The front cover of the magazine offers two sterotypical images of 'Englishness'.
Physical Description
54 page magazine with full colour cover and extensive text and images throughout. Front cover feature two men standing in the ocean with their trousers rolled up, one in pinstriped suit and bowler hat, the other saluting in 'Dad's Army' fashion holding a British Union Jack flag.
