Photograph of man and woman sitting on a beach in Aspendale, outer Melbourne, 31 Dec 1917-01 Jan 1918. It was taken by Miss Claire Sutton; the man depicted is named 'Bill'. The photograph belonged to Miss Elsie Storie of Brunswick, later of Canterbury, a young woman during World War I. Miss Sutton was one of her friends (named in a post-war 'at home' event - HT 39284).
Part of a collection of paper-based ephemera relating to the life of Elsie Storie, a middle-class Melbourne woman who was born around 1895, lived through both wars, and remained in Melbourne all her life.
