The Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus was formed in 1990. It is committed to supporting the GLBTIQ (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intergender, Queer) community of Melbourne, and performs annually at the Stonewall commemorative service for the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC), World AIDS Day ceremonies and services for the People Living With AIDS (PLWHA). It also takes part in fundraising events such as the Australia Day Picnic for radio station JOY Melbourne (94.9 FM).
